Belgian Electronic ID card
Since the very beginning of the development and implementation of the new electronic ID card for Belgian citizens, Fons Knopjes of IDManagement Centre has advised the Belgian Government in this complex process.
After a very successful pilot, the Belgian Government immediately decided to replace the traditional ID card by the electronic ID card. So far, more than a one and a half million of these cards have been issued. The users have responded favourably to this new medium and are creating their own applications.
