Fons Knopjes

The management of identities by governments and the use of identity information by the public and private sectors have attracted increasing attention in the past decade. I am glad that I have been involved in IDManagement Centre from the very start. My expertise and experience in the identity chain enable me to professionally take up the challenges posed by identity management.

I have been involved in identity management since 1980. First as a police superintendent with the Dutch Interpol Desk, tasked with tracing national and international fraudsters, and later in national and international policy planning. I have also acted as advisor to numerous projects involved in the development and implementation of highly secure (electronic and biometric) identity documents issued by governments.

Drawing on my experience and creativity, my expertise lies in my ability to resolve very complex problems involving various disciplines. My motto is to take unworkable solutions at face value.
